Tendinits
As a Diagnotic Medical Sonographer I am more susceptible to getting tendinitis and carpal tunnel syndrom. Sadly, I was recently diagnosed with tendinitis of my left wrist. My treatment was simply Ibuprofen and a arm splint.
Tendinitis is inflammation or irritation of a tendon — any one of the thick fibrous cords that attaches muscle to bone. The condition causes pain and tenderness just outside a joint. While tendinitis can occur in any of your body's tendons, it's most common around your shoulders, elbows, wrists and heels. Although tendinitis can be sudden it usually results from movement repetition. Without treatment tendinitis can increase a radiology employee's risk of tendon rupture which could require surgical repair.
