Examples of Ergonomic Equipment in our Radioogy Department
This is a panoramic view of a room in the ultrasound deparment that I work in.
I have listed a few things that are placed inside the ultrasound suite to create a more ergonomically sound room.
1. The pivotal arm on the ultrasound machine.
2. The back ergonomic tech chair that promotes correct posture and lessen the pressure placed on the arms, wrists, and shoulders from scanning.
3. The positioning of the computer. Take a look at picture. How many other things would you say creates an ergonomical ultrasound suite?
Here are other pieces of ergonomic equipment seen in our radiology department

Radiology Apps
The Diagnositc Radiology: Dynamic Approach to Abdominal Radiology App had 2 reviews that both rated the app with 5 stars. This app is an interactive book that offers extensively annotated, real clinal data sets to illustrate key concepts of the dynamic approach to abdominal anatamy and pathology.
The Modality Inc App only had two written reviews which recieved 1 star and 2 stars respectively. This app enables the user to collect and create image libraries for reference, training, and patient education. These images could be the users own images or they can be taken from medical texts. There is a small registration required to get started.
The Essentials of Pediatric Radiology App only had 1 review which received 5 stars. This app gives interactive questions and answers that test the users diagnostic proficienct. The user is presented with a case that gives patient medical history and radiology imaging to assist in a diagnosis.
The Radiology 2.0: One Night in the ED App had 16 reviews with an average rating of 4 1/2 stars. This app gives full case studies of CT and Xray images with through discussions of each case presented. Alot of reviews complained that it didnt save the last case read once you exit and re-enter the app.
The RSNA Radiology App had 5 reviews giving it an average rating of 4 stars. Thsi app provides peer-reviewed articles of original medical research. It has a very user friendly fomat when presenting the articles on the iPad.
The Surgical Radiology App was my favorite app. It had 85 reviews with a 4 star average rating. In this app a radiolgy modality image comes up on the screen and the user has to find the pathology by clicking in the area of the pathology. Then a multiple choice question comes up related to the pathology. The user has to rush against the 30 sec timer and choose the correct answer before time runs out. Many users commented about not having the capability to look at the pathology image while trying to answer the multiple choice question. A Game Center account is required for this app. After utilizing this app the user should be able to develop fundamental knowledge of surgical radiology, identify certain disease states as presented on radiographs, identify and answer relevant questions related to certain diseases, and be able to interpret results based on medical images provided within this app. Overall this was very interactive and fun!!
